JSP Application Servers
Dreamweaver UltraDev was designed to work with servers that support JSP 1.0. The following server configurations are recommended.
Typical configurations for Windows users
You can use IBM's WebSphere Server to deploy your JSP site. Your Dreamweaver UltraDev Windows box includes a trial copy of IBM WebSphere Server for NT. You can also download a trial version from IBM's Web site.
A popular JSP server you can use is Macromedia JRun, which can be installed on Windows 95, 98, NT, or 2000, and a variety of UNIX machines. Macromedia provides a free trial version of JRun.
Another JSP server is the Netscape iPlanet Enterprise Server, which is available for Windows NT and a variety of UNIX platforms. You can download a free trial from the iPlanet Web site.
Typical configurations for Macintosh users
Currently there are no JSP-capable servers that run on the Macintosh. To deploy your JSP site, you'll need network or FTP access to a Windows or UNIX machine running one of the servers listed above.
