About Application Servers
Before you begin working with UltraDev, you need access to a Web application server. Dreamweaver UltraDev supports three different application server technologies: Macromedia ColdFusion Server, Microsoft Active Server Pages, and Sun JavaServer Pages.
Windows UltraDev users can choose to run an application server on the same machine as UltraDev, or on a network machine, or through an application server through an Internet Service Provider that supports ASP, JSP, or CFML.
Macintosh UltraDev users can run an application server on a machine supporting UNIX or NT, or through an Internet Service Provider that supports ASP, JSP, or CFML. The information below will help you set up the configuration that's right for you.
