View the Object panel
The Object panel lets you view, edit, and rearrange an object's strokes, fills, and effects. You'll use the Object panel to change the basic fill of the handheld organizer's screen into a gradient fill. You'll also modify the attributes of gradients using the Object panel.

If the Object panel isn't already open, select Window > Object to open it. |

Using the Pointer tool, click the black square object that represents the screen of the handheld organizer. |

Handles appear around the handheld organizer's screen to indicate that it is selected. |

In the Object panel, click Fill: Basic to select the solid-color fill of the object. |

The attributes for the fill appear in the attributes area of the Object panel. |
