DIGITAL EDGE AWARD WINNER

Sammy R. | Graphic Communication & Illustration

Sammy’s project addresses the under-representation of women in esports through community tournaments and empowerment. Existing female and non-binary pro players act as team captains, leading mixed-gender teams of young gamers. This initiative aims to provide stronger role models and encourage respectful competition. ATRIX also serves as an online platform for a harassment-free gaming community.

Ashok T. & Nabhya P. | Interaction Design

Ashok and Nabhya’s project is a generative music streaming platform developed during their first semester at California College of the Arts. The platform uses neural activity and AI to create personalized soundtracks that enhance life experiences and help users achieve their goals.

Alfie M. | Design Engineering

Alfie’s project is a wearable biodegradable hydrogel patch that raises awareness of air quality. It features a bacterial-based biosensor and Bluetooth connectivity to detect and alert users to high pollution areas. Alfie used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to design this practical solution, offering a polished and impactful response to the pressing environmental problem.

DIGITAL EDGE AWARD WINNER

Crizio S. | Digital Marketing

Crizio’s project was created for an Advertising and Promotion class. The assignment involved developing an ad campaign for a patented and unconventional product idea. Using Adobe Illustrator, Crizio brought the product and ad campaign to life, transforming the original patent illustration into a professional rendering of a smartwatch for dogs. The campaign included video ad storyboards, magazine ads, rectangular banner ads, and leaderboard banner ads.

Keshawna F. | Occupational Therapy

Keshawna’s project is a reflection on her experience as a step-parent. Through a video presentation, she explores the emotional vulnerability, advocacy, and self-actualization that come with fulfilling this role. Keshawna incorporates a “call to action” strategy, empowering viewers by sharing five key takeaways. The video concludes with a heartfelt dedication to her stepdaughter.

Partheepan J. | Digital Marketing

Partheepan created a digital marketing project for Teesside University Football Academy. His strategy aimed to raise awareness and attract local students through a trial session led by a Middlesbrough Football Club player. The “DreamToPlay Contest” encouraged student participation with social media voting and incentives.

Mark is the Academic Director for the King's Experience at King's College London; his career has focused on creating more responsive educational offers in which students can be more active in constructing pathways that meet their needs, and which encourage them to produce and not consume learning.

Learn more about Saahia Mayenin

Saahia is an Illustrator and Concept Artist based in London. Her artistic practice channels curiosity and creativity into storytelling, drawing inspiration from nature, quiet moments and the invisible things around us. A project merging academia and art won her a prize in the Digital Edge Awards 2022. She is passionate about encouraging those who are on their creative journey to never stop feeding curiosity and nurturing ideas.

Drucilla Burrell is a London-based Creative Director and photographer working with the Adobe EMEA Studio. Her photographic practice is rooted in the study of Classical techniques and their implementation and dissemination via digital technology. Her most recent commission for The National Gallery London playfully re-imagining the power dynamics presented in traditional portraiture using contemporary digital methods.

Learn more about Mark Andrews

Mark is an experienced education design and digital learning leader who is now a Pedagogical Evangelist with Adobe. Prior to joining Adobe, Mark led institutional efforts in digital and blended-learning at the Cambridge Judge Business School. A practitioner-researcher, he is experienced in system thinking and building communities of practice focused on learner-centred design and delivery. Prior to these roles Mark was a lecturer and held learning design and innovation seminars. In his role at Adobe, Mark leads our efforts in collaborating with innovators across the education sector to support the enablement and embedding of core digital literacy, creativity, and employability skills. With this, he helps institutions ensure that learners have the knowledge and capability to flourish in an increasingly digitally-native world.
