Adobe XD is a powerful platform for creating user experiences by way of the iterative design process, all at the speed of thought. In this video series I'm going to familiarise you with the application interface while I get you started creating a splash screen with scrolling content and navigation, all in five easy steps.
If you want to follow along with me during the video tutorial you'll want to make sure you have the XD QuickStart file open. You can find a link to that in the download section of this video series playlist.
Here towards the top we have a number of shortcuts you can use to navigate through the application. You're welcome to review them or follow along with me as I point them out during our tutorial. For now you're going to want to master moving around on the design canvas. If you want to zoom in and out you can hit Command on the Mac or Control on Windows and then the + or - sign. I'm zoomed in pretty well here, but if I hit Command on the Mac or Control on Windows and then the - key, it will take me back out, so I can see all of the content here on the design canvas. Hitting Command or Control on Windows and the + sign will zoom me back in.
Alternatively if you have a track pad, using pinch to zoom in and out also works quite well. From there you can hold down the spacebar to change it to the Hand tool which allows you to navigate around on the screen.
With those housekeeping items out of the way, let's go ahead and get started on the project. We'll begin with something pretty common in experience design -- a splash or Welcome screen in the next step.
