Hey everyone, I’m Howard Pinsky - and in this video we’re going to take a look at how you can set up and share multiple flows in Adobe XD.
On this project, I have several designs that I may want to be able to share with clients, coworkers or even friends. Switching over to Prototype mode, you’ll notice that I’ve already gone ahead and wired up the high fidelity flow, but I haven’t yet defined the home screen. Over to the left of the first artboard, the grey icon can clicked to define the home screen for this flow and to help you to identify it amongst the others, you can rename it right above.
Let’s do the same for the others. Set a home screen on a wired up artboard and name the flow, if you wish. One added benefit of defining your home screens, is that all connected artboards can be selected at once by clicking their label. This will not only let you quickly rearrange your document, but if you need to export all artboards in a specific flow, this will ensure you don’t miss any.
Of course, the main benefit is sharing. For the design system and overview, I may want to share it with the Design Review preset so that the client can give me feedback on the colours, type and overall idea - and when the link has been created, it’ll appear within the Properties Inspector, where I can now copy it to my clipboard, grab the embed code or open it in my default browser. For the next flow, I’m mostly focused on testing the user experience of this application, so I’ll make sure to go with that preset and just like with the first flow, a separate link can be created that can then be shared around and opened directly on a mobile device.
Finally, now that my stakeholders have approved and users are loving the experience, I can share this final, high-fidelity flow with my developers - and I’ll want to make sure to include all marked assets so they have everything they need to get started. With a few links created and shared, selecting any of the flows will allow me to manage them separately and if changes are made to any of the prototypes, I can update it over to the right.

Get more flexibility in how you organise designs. Use the same screens in different designs for different stakeholders. Keep everything in sync as you make changes. Create multiple flows to control who sees which iteration of your project. Spend more time designing and less time doing repetitive work.
