With the Share selected artboard feature in Adobe XD, you can share designs from the application in no time at all. Let me show you what I mean.
I'm here in XD and I'm just getting started on a new design concept. I've worked up a set of colors and some visual elements that I think will work well. But before I implement the full design, I want to validate the concept with my client. And then get the rest of the team up to speed once we have an approval. Rather than having to export these designs to some sort of presentation tool and then worry if my colors or images will render correctly, I'd like to leverage the native sharing capabilities here within the application. I'd like to include all of the artboards that I have visible here in the presentation. So I'll begin by pressing and dragging to select the full set. When I release my mouse, notice that an icon appears in the upper left-hand corner above the selection. Clicking on the icon will generate a shareable web link.
One quick point that I'd like to make: I can always click off and then select a subset of content. Let's say I just want to share one artboard, this first proposal cover. I can click on its title and there's that share link just above it. I can also come in and hold down the Shift key and select a subset of what I have visible. So I'll go with the cover and, holding the Shift key, I'll select the row that's here towards the bottom, with this last set of four artboards. With my selection all set now, I'll go ahead and click that share icon here on the upper left corner. Now rather quickly, XD begins the process of generating a shareable link.
Notice here at the bottom, I get a notification allowing me to open up a web browser with that new prototype. I also can come here to the upper left-hand corner and where that initial share icon was, I now have a default title for the share that I've just defined, and an icon here towards the right. If I click on that icon, it's going to copy the link to my clipboard. From there, I can share the link with my client or my colleagues by way of email or chat. Something of that sort. I'll go ahead and click on that icon and copy the link to the clipboard and I'll switch over to a web browser and paste it there.
As the Prototype loads, I can see that first proposal cover artboard. Each time I click from here, I'll proceed to the next artboard in the sequence, with the order of that sequence set by the location of the artboard on the design canvas. Notice that if my client or my colleagues have any questions or design recommendations, they can always open up the Commenting panel here on the right and add comments to the design. I'll receive a notification for each of the comments in both the Creative Cloud desktop application and as an email. There's also a preference in Adobe XD for Share selected artboards that allows me to control exactly how the Prototype link is configured, for things like password protection or design specifications.
Well, as usual, I have just scratched the surface of this terrific sharing feature in Adobe XD. I encourage you to give this capability a try.
