Adobe Acrobat AI Assistant is available as an add-on subscription to Acrobat Reader (Free), Acrobat Standard, and Acrobat Pro plans across desktop, mobile and web apps. To get started, upload a PDF or a supported file format. If you upload a Microsoft Word document (DOCX), PowerPoint presentation (PPTX), TXT file, or RTF file, Acrobat will convert it to PDF. After uploading, sign in to ask questions and receive quick answers.
Many AI Assistant responses include numbered references as clickable links. Clicking these links highlights the related content in your document, making it easy to verify information. You can also copy the chat history to use the answers for emails, social posts, or presentations. Learn more about how chat history is stored.
The AI summarising tool helps you quickly pinpoint key information from your documents. Acrobat’s generative summary feature creates a detailed outline with headings, section links, and key points with just one click. It paraphrases the document content into a concise summary, making it easy to grasp lengthy research papers or extensive PDFs in a fraction of the time.
You can sign in to Acrobat to try generative summary and the AI Assistant Q&A feature. Both free and paid Acrobat users receive a limited number of complimentary AI Assistant requests. Security is paramount to Adobe. When you upload documents using this tool, they will be deleted from our servers to respect your privacy if you don’t sign in. Security measures are also built into every PDF created with Acrobat.
In addition, Adobe has integrated the trusted Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service AI model with our proprietary technologies to provide generative AI capability in Acrobat. Adobe and its service providers do not use Adobe customer content to train the large language models (LLMs) — ours or a third party’s — that deliver Acrobat generative AI capabilities. We also do not permit third parties to manually review Adobe customer content.
You can cancel or deactivate your Acrobat AI Assistant subscription in your Adobe account, by following the below steps:
Cancelling your AI Assistant subscription will remove access to those features, but your base Acrobat plan will remain active. If you cancel your base Acrobat plan, the AI Assistant subscription will also be cancelled. For more details on managing your Adobe subscriptions page.
